Facebook newsfeeds will soon contain fewer ads for products or services that users are not interested in. This is in accordance with a few changes in advertising policy that Facebook Inc is implementing.
On Facebook’s official blog, Hong Ge, Engineering Manager, News Feed Ads, said, “We are currently working on some updates to the ads algorithm to improve the relevance and quality of the ads people see. When deciding which ad to show to which groups of people, we are placing more emphasis on feedback we receive from people about ads, including how often people report or hide an ad.”
This means that you should see ads that are increasingly relevant you, and fewer ads that you might not be interested in.
