Sony unveils SmartAR augmented reality tech, might possibly be witchcraft

While augmented reality has been around for a while, there has always been limitations to what the tech could do. The biggest limitation for the tech is the need for markers – either in barcode or image form – for it to work. Sony has devised way for AR to work without the need for specialized markers and barcodes, instead relying on normal objects like menus and the like to trigger it. It’s hard to explain how everything works but thankfully Sony has included a nifty little video of the thing in action. Follow the link to Sony’s site and you’ll see what we mean.
