It seems that Sony’s divorce from Ericsson is official, as the newest device – the Xperia S – from the Japanese firm is devoid of the partnership’s branding. That doesn’t mean that the Xperia S is short on specs – quite the opposite actually. The Xperia S is equipped with a 4.3-inch, 720p display, 1.5GHz dual core processor and a massive 12-megapixel Exmor R camera sensor.
The Xperia S is also Playstation certified and like many other devices this year, has NFC built-in. Unfortunately, people are saying that this device will only have Android 2.3 on-board when it launches, though Sony says that an upgrade to ICS will come. Like other devices on display at CES, expect this particular device to drop in the second quarter of 2012.
