Android phones continue to flood the market, and in a space whose devices are constantly jockeying for position, ZTE offers a device that gives you quad-core power, but doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
The ZTE Grand X Quad V987 is a 1.2 GHz Quad-core device running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean that caters to those for whom two cores are simply not enough. The spec sheet of the Gran X is solid, and apart from the four CPU cores, also offers a roomy 5-inch screen with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. This gives it a more than acceptable 294 pixels per inch. The device lets you surf the Internet at 3G speeds, and comes with an 8 megapixel camera that can shoot full-HD video at 30FPS. It has 1GB of RAM and 4GB of storage space, expandable to 32GB thanks to an internal microSD card slot. The included photo seems to indicate dual-sim connectivity, though there wasn’t any mention of this feature in the press release just yet. These are pretty decent specs, and if it is as affordable as ZTE seems to be hinting (there was, sadly no price included in the release), this could be a great deal for those who want a great Android phone. They have a pretty good record with their android releases, particularly their LTE devices, so we’re going to watch this device and hopefully get a review going if we can score ourselves a loaner.
