The newest member of the Xperia family, the Xperia L, makes its way to the Philippines this month at a suggested retail price of PHP 14,990.
The highlight of this Xperia model is its 8-megapixel camera that uses Sony’s unique “Exmor RS for mobile” sensor technology that enables users to take sharp photos with rich colors and stunning clarity. Its High Dynamic Range (HDR) for photos and videos ensures that subjects are captured with utmost clarity, even when they are placed against a strong backlight. For quick shooting, there’s a dedicated button on the body of the Xperia L that launches the camera function even from a locked screen. Other camera features include 4x digital zoom, face detection, geotagging, image and video stabilization, touch-triggered capture and focus, a self-timer, and 720p video recording.
While the device wields a 4.3-inch FWVGA 854 x 480-pixel screen on which you can enjoy the vivid colors of your photos, the Xperia L also comes with NFC capabilities to give you a larger, better view of your pictures on a compatible TV screen. The device’s NFC capabilities also facilitates sharing of music and photos between appropriately equipped devices just by tapping them against one another. Sony touts this as the “One-Touch” function.
In terms of hardware, the Xperia L has a 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8230 dual-core processor and 8GB of internal memory that’s expandable to up to 32GB via microSD. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as its OS.
The Xperia L comes in white, red and black variations.
