Asus unveils Padfone, integrated smartphone and tablet solution in one

Probably the biggest news that’ll come out of Asus’ presscon today is the announcement of the Padfone – a phone/tablet combo device. The Padfone is actually two devices – a main tablet and a smartphone that docks on the back of it. Asus Chairman Jonny Shih told the press that the device is geared towards seamless integration and viewing. You start viewing a movie on the smartphone, for example, and decide to finish it on the tablet – the screen automatically transfers to the larger tablet automagically. There was no working demo of the whole thing unfortunately, just a concept video of how the whole thing happens, and no matter what we try the Asus execs were tight-lipped about pricing, specs and availability. We’ve embedded a promo video below to show you how it’ll eventually work.
