Panasonic Launches Lumix GH5 Locally

In celebration of its 50th year in the country and an overwhelming response to the Lumix GH4, Panasonic held a grand event to launch the newest iteration of the DMC-GH high-end mirrorless camera, the GH5.

Lumix’s DMC-GH line is loved by professional photographers and videographers for its advanced user controls, increased video capabilities, and compact design. These appreciated features returns in the GH5 and made much better.

As the company’s flagship mirrorless camera, the GH5 boasts various technologies that make competition pale in comparison. It ships with a newly-developed 20.3 MP Digital Live MOS sensor without low-pass filter, new Venus engine, and new AF system with advanced DFD technology enabling it to produce high image quality never before seen in all Lumix G shooters.

In the panel discussion featuring professional photographers during the event, one of the features majority highlighted is the GH5’s capable image stabilizer. This mirrorless camera, comes built with 5-axis dual I.S.2 which suppresses camera shakes effectively; uncontrollable large movements are corrected allowing creative freedom.

The GH5 also allows 4K/60p video recording with no cropping, 4K/30p 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording, and 6K photo. Variable Frame rate, and optional V-LogL support and Look Up Table (LUT) are also thrown into the mix.

Design-wise, the GH5 parades a durable magnesium alloy body that is weather-sealed, making it splash-, dust, and freeze-proof (up to -10-degree Celsius). Its 0.76x 3,680k-dot OLED live view finder/3.2-inch free-angle touch monitor helps the user shoot subjects without worries.
