Globe will start selling LTE mobile phone(s) this weekend, still coy on what those units will be

Aside from unveiling Globe’s new smartphone apps today, Peter Bithos, Head of Consumer Division at Globe Telecom had a surprise announcement for the press gathered at their event. The Globe exec said that the telco will start selling LTE-enabled smartphone(s) this weekend, which should entice people who are ready to jump on in on the LTE bandwagon wave but don’t want to settle for just the LTE dongle that Globe initially offered when they launched the service. Unfortunately, Mr. Bithos did not reveal what LTE devices would be launched this weekend, though he was holding an LTE version of the Galaxy S III when he did the demo for the Globe apps earlier tonight. He was also pretty mum when we asked him if they would also unveil the LTE version of the iPhone 5 when it hits stores next week. Here’s to hoping, right?
