Like many ambitious projects, we couldn’t help but be skeptical about Google’s mindblowing augmented reality project, Project Glass. That is until we stumbled onto Robert Scoble’s Google+ post about a charity event he attended with Google co-founder Sergey Brin who was spotted wearing a prototype Google Glass.
Robert says that the device is a prototype, and Sergey’s right eye had a bluish light flashing off of his right eyeball while they talked, indicating that the device was indeed functional during the event. Robert says that the glasses are “Very real. Very light looking. Most of the people around us had no idea that these glasses are pretty special.”
Photographer Thomas Hawk managed to get some hi-res shots of the Google co-founder sporting the glasses, and our inner nerd hopes and prays that the AR tech comes sooner rather than later.
