Mr. Tatsuya Natsume (3rd from left) awards the Step-1 Green Dealer Certification to Honda Cars Iloilo’s Branch Manager, Mr. Christian Andaya and Service Manager, Mr. Edgar Braza witnessed by associates from HCPI and HCIL.
Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) was recently awarded Honda Cars Iloilo (HCIL)—member of Honda Cars Cebu Group (HCCI)—a step-1 Green Dealer certification in a ceremony held at their dealership last September 11, 2013.
Qualified recipients of the certification must pass HCPI’s Green Dealership Program, which considers the dealership’s environmental initiative in its sales operations, particularly in the sale of its products, services and parts.
To acquire certification, the dealer must effectively implement activities under its 2-step program. Step 1 activities include waste management, recycling, basic safety, use of personnel protective equipment and compliance to legal requirements. Whereas, Step 2 activities include contribution to local community through CSR projects, energy and environmental conservation, chemical use and control, improved waste management system, improved recycling program and complete safety and personnel protective equipment. This ‘Green’ program is in line with the Global Honda Environmental Initiatives towards helping in the preservation, conservation, and protection of the environment.
HCPI’s President and General Manager, Mr. Tatsuya Natsume presented the certificate and plaque of recognition to Mr. Christian Andaya, Branch Manager and Mr. Edgar Braza, Service Manager of Honda Cars Iloilo. Also present at the ceremony were Mr. Alec Bucao, General Manager of HCCI Group; Mr. Norman Millare, Customer Service Division Head and Mr. Edipollo Anastacio, Service Support Department Head of HCPI.
HCIL is the 6th recipient of the Step-1 or the “Good Green Dealer” certification since the program launched in 2008.
