HP has announced their two new builder programs meant to aid their partners in expanding cloud practices, generating new revenue opportunities, and leveraging HP Cloud Services, the company’s public cloud. The two new programs, namely the public cloud partner program for global system integrators (GSIs) and the public cloud partner program for value-added resellers (VARs)—are initially available in private beta. HP claims that by adopting these programs, partners will be able to drive greater profitability and innovation for their customers.
The public cloud partner program for GSIs enables partners to provide consulting services, build applications or resell services leveraging HP Cloud Services. The program provides partners with tools for the rapid transition of customers to the cloud. Program members have access to designated cloud testing environments, collaborative go-to market opportunities, and sales, tech and support resources for expanding public cloud practices. HP is currently working with global financial services firm Deloitte Consulting LLP and tech consulting and outsourcing provider Infosys to help partners solve complex business problems and ensure financial growth.
The builder program for VARs, meanwhile, rewards partners for either referring customers to HP Cloud Services or maintaining long-term relationships with annuity-based commissions. Through this program, VARs and channel partners are given assistance in capturing new markets and attracting customers through HP training, co-branding opportunities and marketing tools. HP states that in summer 2013, they will be expanding the program to provide financial incentives for channel partners reselling HP Cloud Services.
HP has also augmented its cloud service with three new private beta “as a service” offerings that support a reliable application infrastructure and enable customers to achieve rapid business results. These are: HP Cloud Monitoring, which helps users identify potential issues; HP Cloud Load Balancer, which optimizes application response time and reduces IT management costs by distributing web traffic across multiple servers; and HP Cloud DNS, which provides easy access to a global DNS service by translating domain names to IP addresses using a global network of servers.
