Microsoft is working on another project, the Type-Hover-Swipe keyboard, which has a hidden grid of infrared motion sensors between the keys, letting users perform hand gestures from a more convenient position. As of now, the technology is still under the development stage and is equipped with a 64-pixel sensor that is precise enough to recognize commands.

Although Microsoft haven’t yet released a statement about the production plans of said keyboard, the company said the raw sensors they’ve included in it could be used for direct touch input, thus removing the need for touchscreen function.
