Here’s a nice gesture by Norton – the company has just released a free Android app that’ll help parents keep tabs on their young’uns internet use on their smartphones. Dubbed Norton Safety Minder: Mobile Edition, the app allows parents to keep a sharp eye on their children’s browsing habits, and has the capability to block out websites that parents feel are inappropriate for their’ kids. The app requires parents to have a Norton Online Family account (you can create one from within the app if you don’t have it) and is available free from the Android marketplace. There’s also additional functionality and features that can be unlocked which include SMS text monitoring. You can grab the Android app from here.
