The album is the product of a joint effort of a cast of interpreters, featuring young and fresh OPM talents. Philpop, the premier songwriting competition in the country, has been discovering and producing outstanding Filipino songs over the years.

Of the top 12 contenders, one grand prize winner will be receiving PHP 1 million, who will be announced on July 26 at the Meralco Theater.

“This year’s finalists constitute a heady brew of the most varied of genres: dance, rock, R&B, a couple of ballads, some pop and a genre-defying song in multi meter,” Philpop foundation executive director and music maestro Ryan Cayabyab, said. “I am also happy and excited to hear established singers go shoulder-to-shoulder with new and up and coming performers. It’s definitely a tough competition and the music-loving Filipino public will be the judge.”

Patrick Tang, PLDT vice president and head of HOME voice solutions, added, “PLDT HOME Telpad is proud to be part of Philippine music history as it happens. Music is an integral part of our culture, and we are delighted that the PLDT HOME Telpad is able to bring OPM’s finest to the Filipino home.”
