Samsung supposedly looking at October release date for Windows 8 RT powered tablets

Samsung is reportedly looking at releasing Windows 8 RT tablets come October, to coincide with the official launch of Windows 8. Windows 8 RT is the ARM optimized version of the new OS. Samsung already has numerous touch-equipped tablets that run on Intel’s x86 platform (as evidenced by the devices we saw at this year’s COMPUTEX), and this is the first we’ve heard about the Korean firm’s plans to release an ARM based tablet. The source (which did not want to be identified) said that Samsung’s RT tablet would be running Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor, which is a bit odd since Samsung has the capacity to supply their own chips.
